DADU, March 2: A man came under fire by armed marauders here on Friday when he was returning from a court after filing an application against four people whom he accused of kidnapping his wife. He remained unhurt as the people present there intervened.

According to reports, Dr Ayub Chandio, a resident of Mehar, filed a petition in the court of the third additional session judge Dadu against Nizamuddin, Imamuddin, Badar, and Mohkamuddin Chandio, stating that he had married Islam Khatoon about six months back and she was kidnapped by the respondents from their house about six days ago.

He said that the people had declared Islam Khatoon as kari and wanted to kill her. He said that the accused had occupied his property in Mehar and he had also lodged a complaint with the SHO of Mehar police station.

He appealed that an FIR should be registered against the people and his wife should be recovered from their possession.

The court ordered the SHO Mehar police to lodge an FIR against those involved in the matter and recover Islam Khatoon from their possession.

As Dr Chandio was returning from the court, five armed men attacked him with guns but people present there saved him. One of the attackers was captured. The accused was identified as Imamuddin Chandio.

Dadu town police, on the complaint of Dr Ayub Chandio, registered an FIR against Imamuddin and four others.
