PESHAWAR, March 2: The Election Commission of Pakistan has fixed March 15 as the last date for applying for postal balloting in the by-election in NA-26 Bannu constituency.
According to a press release issued here on Friday, the Election Commission of Pakistan has asked all entitled persons who are interested in casting their votes through postal balloting to apply to the returning officer concerned by the due date. Application forms are available with the Returning Officer, the press release added.
Government servants, members of the armed forces, holders of public offices, their wives and their children, who are registered as voters and residing with them, can exercise their right of vote through postal ballot. Similarly, persons detained in a prison or are in legal custody are also entitled to vote by postal ballot.
Polling personnel and officials of law-enforcement agencies, who have been assigned duties at the polling stations, can send their applications for postal ballot latest by March 20. Necessary instructions in this regard have already been issued to the Returning Officers concerned, the press release added.
Polling in constituency NA-26 Bannu shall be held on March 29, 2007.—APP
