Accused in Greesh murder case remanded

HYDERABAD, March 1: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge, Syed Ali Ashraf Shah, remanded activists of a banned militant outfit to police and judicial custody in separate cases in respect of Greesh Kumar kidnapping and murder case.

The Market police obtained seven days remand of Khadim Hussain, Mohammad Ali, Asghar, Javed, and Rashid Minhas, his sons Tahir Hussain and Shahid Hussain Minhas, in the main kidnapping and murder case which was lodged vide crime No 76/06 on the compliant of Kumar's father after he was kidnapped in August last.

The ATC judge also remanded the accused in police custody for seven days in respect of a crime which was lodged by Kotri police following an encounter in Sachal Sarmast Colony on February 7 vide crime No. 26/07 under sections 324, 353, 147, 148, 149 PPC and 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 against Shahid, his father Khadim Hussain Minhas and three others, including Tahir Minhas, Sohail and Javed Ansari on the complaint of Inspector Shahjehan Lashari. Sohail is absconding. Khadim and Tahir were also booked under sections 13-D of Arms Ordinance and were remanded to judicial custody. The remaining accused of FIR 26/07 were remanded to police custody.

The B-section police of Latifabad also obtained remand of Rashid Sheikh, one of the co-accused in Greesh Kumar's murder case, for seven days in police custody for possessing explosives material under section 5 of Explosive Substance Act. It was lodged on February 21 against him.Meanwhile, Market police lodged a separate case against Tahir Hussain Minhas vide crime No 30/07 regarding explosive material which was recovered on his disclosure from the house of Rashid Sheikh in Sarfaraz Colony.

The house was rented out to one Azeem Sheikh, who could not be found when raided by the police. Tahir was remanded to police custody for seven days in the same case also.
