MULTAN, March 1: Cattle owners started moving their animals on Thursday morning from the city limits at the end of deadline.

Although they were resisting attempts to shift cattle pens and threatened that they would bring more than 30,000 buffalos outside the house and office of the district nazim, they also made arrangements to shift their cattle.

Meanwhile, the Mumtazabad Town officials inspected cattle pens in Mohallah Shah Shakoor, Daulat Gate and other parts of the city along with a large contingent of police.

They found around four dozen cattle pens empty in Mohallah Shah Shakoor. However, they found 16 buffalos in the cattle pen of Malik Zahoor alias Haji Kala though he had locked the main gate to hoodwink the town officials.

Meanwhile, construction of 150 cattle pens has been started in Bucha Gowala Colony.

Cattle Pens Association president Abdul Wahid Qureshi and general secretary Iqbal Bhutta have also collected material for the construction of their cattle pens at plot No 141 and 110.

DO (livestock) Habibullah Khan said the Bosan Town administration has provided four transformers to Bucha Gowala Colony.
