KARACHI, March 1: The streets and lanes of different markets in Jodia Bazaar are inundated with sewage which has overflowed due to choked sewerage lines creating problems for shopkeepers, pedestrians and motorists.

The sewerage line along most of M.A Jinnah Road is choked creating a mess in the commercial area. The business community has expressed concern and demanded an immediate solution, but no action has been taken yet, said President Businessmen Society Jodia Bazaar, Abdul Qadir Noorani.

He said that the business community had spent considerable funds to solve the problem but the lines choke after almost every two months. As a result, sewage accumulates in front of Memon Mosque and other lanes in Jodia Bazaar.

The shopkeepers said the affected areas were Darya Lal Street, Mohammad Feroz Street, Ram Bharti Street, Weerji Street, Bartan Bazaar and Rice Bazaar.
