PESHAWAR, Feb 23: A local court on Friday dismissed bail application of a union council nazim for his alleged involvement in kidnapping of a minor boy.
Judicial Magistrate Tilla Mohammad Khan said that applicant Aftab Khan, nazim of the Budhani union council, did not deserve the concession of bail.
The nazim was charged with kidnapping six-year-old Malik Mazhar, a resident of Hazar Khwani area.
Police said the boy, who is nephew of a naib-nazim, was kidnapped in the Yakatoth police area on January 15. The boy was recovered and alleged kidnapper Adil was arrested.
During interrogation Adil told police that he had kidnapped the boy at the behest of Aftab who had a feud with the boy’s family.
Ali Zaman advocate appeared for the complainant and contended that the prime accused had named the applicant during interrogation and thus he was directly involved in the case.
