HYDERABAD, Oct 19: The first meeting of the University Development Working Party (UDWP) was held here on Friday with the Vice Chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, in the chair.

The meeting was attended by the deans of all faculties, senior professors and research scholars.

The meeting, in the light of the decisions of the university syndicate, decided that 50 per cent amount from the profit of income of admissions and self-finance scheme of morning shift should be utilized for the development of the departments and research projects according to the rules already approved.

The meeting advised other faculties of social sciences, arts and Islamic Studies to prepare the projects of research schemes and resolved that these should be discussed in the next meeting of UDWP.

The meeting directed the finance division of the university to estimate the amount year wise which has been received on account of profit on the invested amount, under the self-finance scheme for further allocation of works.

The meeting discussed some research projects for their financial assistance.

ADMISSIONS: The director of admissions, University of Sindh, has announced here on Friday that the last date for admissions to bachelors and masters degree programme in the university for the academic session of 2001-2002 has been extended up to October 25, 2001.

RESULT: The Controller of Examinations, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, has announced the result of B.Ed off-campus programme annual examination 1999 of Iqra College of Education, Hyderabad.

Masoom, daughter of Muhammad Umer Khaskheli, seat no. 42, has secured first position while Syed Najam Ali, son of Syed Sirajuddin Syed, seat no. 34, and Sabir Ahmed, son of Saghair Ahmed Pirzada, seat no. 95, have secured second and third position respectively.
