MIRPURKHAS, Feb 19: Adviser to Sindh chief minister on information Salahuddin Haider has said that recruitments are being made in education, health and home departments after lifting of ban three months ago.

At a press conference at Muttahida Qaumi Movement zonal office here on Monday, he said that due to efforts of MQM leader Altaf Hussain, differences between Sindhi and Urdu speaking people had considerably reduced and both the communities were promoting brotherhood.

He said that that the Sindh governor had approved PC-I of mega projects for Mirpurkhas city amounting to Rs200 million.

He said that on the recommendations of federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Ghori, the federal government had approved schemes of a public park and a monument in the city at a cost of Rs14.2 million.

Mr Haider said that MQM MPAs’ funds were being utilised on development schemes in interior of Sindh.

Mirpurkhas District Naib Nazim Dr Zafar Kamali, Mirpurkhas Taluka Nazim Ghulam Dastagir Khan and MQM Mirpurkhas zone in-charge Saleem Razzaq were present on the occasion.

PPP DEMO: Activists of the People’s Party Parliamentarians staged a demonstration outside the district and sessions court here on Monday to protest against attacks on PPP MNAs Sherry Rehman and Dr Azra Pechuho and MPA Syed Qaim Ali Shah.Led by Ali Akbar Panhwar, the protesters carried banners and placards and raised slogans against the government. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the government, sensing popularity of the PPP, was taking illegal actions.

Malik Yaseen Ghori, Tharo Panhwar, Zakir Hussain and Nawab Qureshi also spoke on the occasion.

CONDEMNED: President of Pakistan-India Peoples Forum for Peace and Democracy, Mirpurkhas chapter, Rais Ahmed Khan, has expressed grief and sorrow over a bomb explosion in Samjhota Express and termed it a conspiracy to create differences and hatred among the people of both the countries. He urged the government to increase seat quota for Mirpurkhas in Thar Express train.
