NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Feb 17: A large number of Awami Tehrik activists including men and women staged a demonstration outside the local press club in Moro on Saturday against the sale of islands and what they termed as ‘exploitation’ of Sindh’s resources.
The protesters led by Sakina Samoon, Umrah Samoon, Ghulam Fareed and Khan Mohammad said that the government was not honouring peoples’ wishes about the sale of islands and other anti-province projects despite several protests by all the major political parties and NGOs.
They said that Sindhi women had come out on the roads to protect their rights and urged the government to meet their demands. The leaders of Peoples Party Parliamentarians, Labour Party Pakistan and Sindh Taraqqi-Pasand Party also took part in the protest.
