DADU, Feb 17: Leader of opposition in Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro demanded on Saturday that Arbab Ghulam Rahim should be removed and the Sindh government, which he said had failed to provide peace to people should be dismissed.
Talking to journalists in the Butt Serai village of Mehar taluka the leader of People’s Party Parliamentarians said that PPP might go for an election alliance with ARD in general elections.
He said that the party was considering no proposal for contesting general elections in alliance with MQM and PML-F. The wrong and directionless policies of the government had deepened economic crisis and raised poverty, he said.
Mr Khuhro opposed more powers for the president and his re-election by current assembly.
DEMO: A large number of people belonging to Otho community staged a demonstration on the Indus Highway near Karampur village on Saturday demanding arrest of the killers of Ghulam Hussain Otho kidnapped in Sehwan about eight days ago.
The protesters burnt tyres on the highway suspending traffic for some time.
Meanwhile, a sizable number of patients staged a demonstration in front of the gate of Civil Hospital against the civil surgeon.
The protesters led by leaders of Dadu Citizens Ittehad Qaim Ali Siyal, Abdul Khaliq Jatoi and Gulsher alleged that the hospital administration was selling medicines to private medical stores and were forcing them to purchase drugs from their own pocket.
ARRESTED: The anti-corruption police of Jamshoro arrested a tapedar Anwar Memon after a raid on mukhtiarkar office in Dadu on charges of tempering with revenue record when he was posted in Sehwan two years ago.
