KARACHI: Quetta blast condemned

KARACHI, Feb 17: Various political parties condemned the bomb blast at a Quetta court on Saturday afternoon that killed more than 15 people and wounded many others.

In their separate statements, they termed it a failure of the government’s foreign as well as internal policies and demanded that culprits be arrested, tried and punished immediately.

MMA Sindh chief and MNA Asadullah Bhutto, condemning the court bomb blast, termed it a failure of the government in maintaining law and order. Expressing sorrow over the killing of innocent people in the blast, he demanded that the government take effective steps to prevent terrorist attacks.

The PPP-SB, condemning the bomb blast, also termed it a failure of the government’s foreign policy dictated by western powers. She demanded that the culprits be arrested immediately.

In a statement issued here, PPP-SB chief Ghinwa Bhutto said the recent incidents of terrorism, including this bomb blast, was a clear proof of the failure of the government’s foreign as well as internal policies, which should be changed according to the wishes of the people immediately.

She said that at a time when the United States and its allies were in the process of cornering Iran, this blast in the provincial capital bordering Iran was of special significance and should be seen in the broader international perspective to gauge its repercussions.—Staff Reporter
