ISLAMABAD, Feb 15: A Pakistan Air Force jet crashed on Thursday after hitting a bird as it approached an air base for landing, said a military spokesman.

The pilot of the Chinese-made F-7 fighter ejected safely before it crashed within the perimeter of the base in Karachi, said Cmdr Sarfaraz Ahmed Khan.

No injuries were reported on the ground.—AP
