London fashion week begins

LONDON, Feb 11: London's Winter Fashion Week kicked off in style on Sunday, with Dublin-born designer Paul Costelloe unveiling his Parisian-themed collection, but the size-zero furore rumbled on.

Organisers at the British Fashion Council (BFC) had already decided not to follow Madrid Fashion Week by banning ultra stick-thin, so-called size-zero models from the catwalk.

However the BFC set the tone of London Fashion Week, which runs until Friday, by writing to designers to request that they only use healthy-looking models aged over 16.
