SAHIWAL, Feb 6: Teachers on Tuesday boycotted academic activities across the district from 10am onwards, demanding dismissal of two monitoring officers.

Addressing a protest rally at the local government comprehensive high school, additional-secretary Mushtaq Kathia of United Front of Punjab Teachers, PTU Sahiwal president Abdul Salam, secretary-general Javed Iqbal and others demanded dismissal of monitoring officers Asif Ali and Muhammad Younas.

The protesters warned that they would hold protests outside the Governor’s House and the Chief Minister’s House.

They condemned violence allegedly inflicted on teachers of government primary school for boys, Chak 119/7-R and misbehaviour with a lady teacher of government primary school, Chak 2/10-L, Harappa.

They demanded a monitoring team of females for visit to girls’ schools.

GIRL KIDNAPPED: Three armed men riding a car kidnapped a girl student from Chak 176/9-L on Tuesday.

Reports said the girl was on her way back home from the college when accused Muhammad Shafiq and his two accomplices kidnapped her.

The police report said that Shafiq had got prepared a fake `nikahnama.’ — Correspondent
