PESHAWAR, Feb 6: Prof Mohammad Daud Khan has been appointed first vice-chancellor of the Khyber Medical University (KMU).
A notification issued by the establishment department on Tuesday said that the NWFP governor had appointed Mohammad Daud Khan, professor of ophthalmology BPS-21, as vice-chancellor of the KMU from the date of assumption of the charge.
It said that the terms and condition for Dr Khan’s new assignment would be settled under the Khyber Medical University Act 2006. The bill for upgrading the Khyber Medical College had been passed by the NWFP assembly in November last year.
The health department had forwarded names of Dr Arshad Javaid, dean of Postgraduate Medical Institute, Dr Fazal Ahmad, principal of the Khyber Medical College and Dr Daud Khan for the post of the vice-chancellor.
