BAJAUR, Feb 6: The political administration of Bajaur Agency has destroyed the poppy crop over a large cultivated area following consultation with tribal leaders and farmers.

Sources in the political administration said that various teams comprising volunteers and the management were being sent to poppy-growing areas to prepare an assessment report before destroying the crop.

Shakeel Qadir Khan, an official in the Bajaur Agency administration, said that all steps were being taken to eliminate the poppy crop from the area.—APP
