GENEVA, Feb 3: Stanislas Wawrinka will lead Switzerland's Davis Cup team against Spain in the first round tie to be played in Geneva on Feb 9-11.
Team coach Severin Luethi also named Marco Chiudinelli and doubles specialist Yves Allegro in the squad, as well as newcomer Stephane Bohli, 236th in the ATP ranking.
Bohli, 23, will replace the experienced George Bastl as the fourth player on the Swiss side, which is already weakened by the scheduled absence of world number one Roger Federer.
Wawrinka lost his third round encounter against world number two Rafael Nadal in the Australian open last month in straight sets. Nadal is due to lead Spain in Geneva.—AFP
