LAHORE, Feb 1: Jose Rivas continued his fine run, scoring six goals to help Bank Alfalah win their second consecutive match of the National Polo Championship for the Quaid-i-Azam Gold Cup, trouncing Pakistan Team 10-6 on Thursday.

The bankers made a stormy start taking a 2-0 lead as Rivas opened his account, with a 40-yard penalty hit conversion, followed by a field goal from Usman Haye.

Pakistan Team attempted to strike back in the second chukker but only to trail behind 2-4 as both teams added two goals each.

Hissam Ali Hyder struck both goals for the losers while Rivas and Martin Inchauspe scored a goal each for the bankers.

Bank Alfalah surged ahead increasing the lead 7-3 as Inchauspe scored back-to-back goals while Rivas hit his third. Hissam pumped in his third for the losers.

The Pakistan Team succeeded in making a comeback in the fourth chukker earning three goals while conceding one to reduce the lead to 8-6.

Shah Qubilai Alam scored two while Hissam his fourth and last. Rivas slammed in his fourth goal.

Rivas also dominated the fifth chukker scoring back-to-back to goals complete the tally.

The other three matches of the day were also one-sided.

Seven-goal Chris Hyde guided GSK/Diamond Paints to a 12-7 win against Abraaj Capital.

Mir Shoaib Ahmd (2), Iftikhar Ali Khan Simba (2) and Peter Web (1) were the other scorers for the winners.

For the losers, Lucas Di Paola scored five while Umar Sadik and Agha Murtaza Ali Khan chipped in with a goal each.

Four goals by Gonzaloz Bourdieu enabled Motorola beat ABN Amro/ASC 9-5. James Harper (3), Taimur Mawaz Khan (1) and Kashif Jamal (1) were the other scorers for the winners.

For the losers, Sattar Niazi scored all five.

Four goals by David Bernal and three by Mauricio Devrient helped Soneri Bank trounce Team-A 10-5. Asif Tiwana (2) and Tanvir Tariq (1) were the other scorers.

For the losers, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana netted three goals while Eduardo Zorrilla and Shayan Manzoor one each.
