KHAIRPUR, Feb 1: District and sessions judge Akhlaq Hussain Larik has ordered action under section 220 of the PPC against the SHO and investigation wing in-charge of the Pir-jo-Goth police.

The order was issued on Thursday after the judge heard the case of one Sajjad Hussain Rahujo who was freed from illegal detention at the police station on Wednesday under court orders.

SHO Abbas Bajwa and investigation in-charge Abdul Sami Vaseer also appeared in the court. After recording their statements, the court observed that both the police officials had failed to offer any proper reason for detaining Sajjad.

Earlier, under directives of the court, raid commissioner Shafi Mohammad Siddiqui raided the police station on Wednesday and found Sajjad in illegal detention at a residential quarter belonging to the SHO.

The raid was ordered on an application flied by Munawar Hussain Rahujo, brother of Sajjad, seeking his release from illegal confinement by the police.
