KARACHI, Feb 1: Sindh Minister for Local Government and Katchi Abadis Mohammad Hussain has said that Muttahida Qaumi Movement is the only party that has empowered lower and middle class people, but also the womenfolk and minorities in the political process by giving them representation in decision-making bodies.
Talking to a delegation of Kuchhi Maheshwari Meghwar organisation led by its chief Raju Gauri, he lauded the role being played by minorities in the country’s development, specially in Sindh. He said that present government believed in serving masses without any discrimination of caste, creed, religion and language.
The minister recalled that all towns of Karachi were provided an equal amount for development projects, including those of water and sewerage. An allocation of Rs9.5 million has also been made to each of the union councils. In order to ensure timely completion of uplift schemes and proper use of funds, the city nazim and town nazims are personally monitoring progress of various development schemes in their respective jurisdictions. Their frequent visits and surprise inspections also ensures quality of work.
