Bad weather helps KH earn easy points

LAHORE, Jan 27: A Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match between Karachi Harbour and Lahore Shalimar at the Gaddafi Stadium ended in a draw as play of only 31.4 overs was possible due to foggy weather on Saturday.

Set 383 to win, Lahore Shalimar resumed their innings on overnight score of 44 for no loss at 2:13pm due to bad light. The hosts were batting on 176 for loss of three wickets in 43 overs when the game was called off.

Humayun Farhat remained top scorer with knock of 59 runs. He faced 61 deliveries and hit one six and nine boundaries.

Humayun with the help of Ahmed Shahzad, the other overnight not-out batsman, added 107 runs for first wicket.

Ahmed, who was playing his first match of the first-class cricket scored 77-ball 42 with eight fours. Aamer Sajjad and Arslan Mir remained unbeaten on 35 and 11 respectively.

The Karachi Harbour earned three points on the basis of first innings lead and took their tally to 12 from four matches.
