LAHORE, Jan 27: Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani and Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi discussed the country’s political situation as well as President Pervez Musharraf’s recent visit to the Middle East here on Saturday.

Apprising the chief minister of the successful visit of the president, the federal minister said the tour resulted in enhancing respect and soft image of Pakistan in the comity of nations.

The chief minister said the bold and dynamic leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf had increased Pakistan’s dignity and honour in Islamic countries in particular and in the entire world in general.

He said President Musharraf’s current initiative on the Palestine issue was the voice of the Muslim Ummah.

The world was faced with different challenges because this global issue has remained unresolved, he said, adding that it was the need of the hour to find ways and means to settle the dispute permanently.

On the occasion, the chief minister also briefed the federal minister on ongoing developmental projects in the province.

Mr Durrani said these projects would not only ensure real development in the province but would also prove to be a source of involving common citizens in the development process.

It was agreed in the meeting that the Punjab government and the Federal Information Ministry would jointly launch a campaign to make the public aware of the uplift projects in the province.—APP
