KARACHI, Jan 27: The Sindh Minister for Local Government, Katchi Abadis and Spatial Development, Mohammad Hussain Khan, said that a consultant would be appointed to ensure availability of modern facilities at the Hawkesbay residential project.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of four mobile toilets at Hawkesbay on Saturday.

“For converting Karachi into a mega city, its coastal areas and shores would have to be developed and beautified as per the international standards”, he emphasised.

The minister said that the government was working on a comprehensive project for the uplift of coastal areas. He appreciated the efforts of Keamari town nazim against land grabbers in the town.

Mr Hussain vowed that the government would form laws for construction of toilets in new projects of shopping centres, petrol pumps and gas stations so as to facilitate people.

Refuting the impression of rural-urban divide, the minister said that there was no such divide or discrimination. Development projects all over Sindh show that the Sindh government is serving people without any discrimination, he added.
