MITHI, Jan 25: The District Council of Tharparkar on Thursday demanded of the Nadra to streamline and simplify procedure for preparation of computerized NICs by the residents of Thar.
Council member Hemraj Bheel moved a resolution and pointed out that most roads of Tharparkar district lacked metalled roads and the local Nadra office was provided ordinary two-wheeler vehicles which cannot be operated in rural areas, as a result of which a large number of people were deprived of getting their CNICs prepared.
He urged that the Nadra staff be provided four-wheelers to expedite the process.
Participating in the debate, members Allah Warayo Bajir, Guman Singh, Siddique Dal, Kirshan Lal and Dost Ali told the house that though the aspirants produced their CNIC forms duly attested by the concerned nazims or by the gazetted officers in Nadra office, but most of these forms were returned with unjustified objections.
Giving his ruling, convenor Abdul Karim Rahoomo, said that as the issue is of paramount importance, it will be brought to the notice of the district nazim and a meeting would be arranged with Nadra officials and the nazim to seek an appropriate strategy to solve the issue.
