JACOBABAD, Jan 25: Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister, Sardar Ghulam Sarwar Khan Sarki, has said that Dingi and Bhindhar islands are the property of Sindh which are only leased out to the UAE-based firm Emaar and termed opposition’s hue and cry over the issue unnecessary.

Talking to newsmen here on Thursday, he said that these islands were lying barren and their leasing to Emaar would generate a lot of jobs and also enhance pace of development and prosperity in the area.

He said the administration as well as the future of Sindh were in safe hands and no compromise would be made over the interest of Sindh.

He said that the chief minister was interested to end tribal clashes and conflicts in the province and he had been given this task and if needed, help of army or rangers' would also be sought.

Those who wanted an end to tribal conflicts through a dialogue would be given protocol and if the disputes were not settled amicably, then force would be used to maintain law and order.

He said the practice of handing over girls as compensation for settlement of murder disputes would be discouraged and cases would also be lodged against those found involved in such activities.

Earlier, he chaired a meeting for the settlement of ongoing tribal conflicts in the province. The meeting was attended by a large number of notables.
