Funds for schools

FAISALABAD, Jan 24: The Punjab government has allocated Rs27.882 million for upgradation of six girls schools in the district, a spokesman for the local administration says.

He said government girls high school at Chak 550-GB Samundri would be given the status of higher secondary school while middle school Jahmara, Tandlianwala, elementary schools at Chak 97-RB and Chak 97-RB, Jaranwala tehsil would be upgraded to high schools.

Similarly, primary schools at Chaks 26-GB and 77-GB, Jaranwala would be upgraded to middle level.

The official said work on these projects had been started with immediate effect in order to begin new classes from the coming academic year. —APP
