KARACHI, Jan 23: PPP MNA Nawab Yousuf Talpur, commenting on a statement of the federal IT minister about carrying out no further retrenchments in the PTCL after its privatisation, on Tuesday termed it an attempt to mislead workers.

In a statement issued here, Mr Talpur said the present government had deprived hundreds of thousands of workers of their livelihood by privatising several national organisations.

The policy of privatisation, for the last seven year, had not improved the socioeconomic conditions of people rather it had increased the number of suicide case among jobless people, he added.—PPI
