MIRPURKHAS, Jan 21: Frequent power outage has added to the misery of people in Mirpurkhas and even emergency operations had to be postponed in the civil hospital.

Speaking to newsmen, Roshan Ali Bhatti, the civil surgeon of civil hospital, condemned the unannounced load-shedding and said that he had lodged a complaint with the Hesco chief, seeking his intervention into the matter because a number of operations had to be postponed in the hospital almost daily.

He added that Hesco authorities should fix time of load-shedding so that operation schedule could be prepared accordingly.

Representatives of NGOs and notables have also demanded of the higher authorities to take notice of the matter and ensure end to load-shedding during Muharram.

The district council of Mirpurkhas, a few days ago, had asked the government to at least avoid load-shedding during Muharram but on the very first day, power supply was suspended for two to three hours.
