Two found dead

RAWALPINDI, Jan 18: A security guard deployed at the residence of a foreigner in F-6/3 was found shot dead under mysterious circumstances on Thursday. Police said Mohammad Mushtaq, 35, associated with a private security agency was found shot in the chest after his colleague came to see him on Thursday.

It is to be investigated whether it was an accidental death or a suicide.

In another incident, a 25-year-old man was found hanging in his room near Bagh Sardaran.

Mohammad Shafiq, who had been living in a rented room, was found hanging with a rope tied to the ceiling of the room after his brother came to see him on Thursday.

Police said a murder case has been registered against unidentified persons.

Meanwhile, seven vehicles were taken away from different parts of the city during the last 24 hours.

Mohammad Jehangir’s van (LHV-4709) was stolen in Gangmandi, Fazalur Rehman’s carry van was taken away from RA Bazaar, while Adnan Ahmed’s car was stolen in New Town area.

Nazir Ahmed’s car (IDT-7828) was taken away from the Cantt area, while Zulqurnain lodged a similar complaint of theft of his car (RLE-1361) with the Gangmandi police.

Asif Saeed’s car (RLF-2991) was stolen from Saddar while Raja Dil Shad’s car (HT-706) was taken away from the Airport police area.

Three robbers looted cash and calling cards valuing Rs397,696 at gunpoint from a salesman in the jurisdiction of Westridge police.

Shahid Amin told the police that three robbers intercepted him and at gunpoint snatched the bag containing Rs261,311 in cash, calling cards valuing Rs136,385 and some sims of cellphones.

Azmat Munir complained to the Saddar Barooni police that a gang of robbers entered her house in Quaid-i-Azam Colony and held his son at gunpoint.

They threatened her to kidnap her son if the cash and valuables were not handed over to them. Later, they escaped with the booty. However, the value of the looted goods and cash was not known.
