KARACHI, Jan 18: Over 150 leading textile manufacturing companies from Pakistan participated in Heimtextil held in Frankfurt, Germany, from Jan 10 to 13, and managed to get sizeable repeat orders as well as fresh export contracts for home textile which include bed-linen and towels.
A total of 40 companies participated through the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and around 126 companies participated directly in the fair.Most of the Pakistani exhibitors, specially the middle class exporters, termed the event a success and wished to participate again next year.
Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Minister for Textile, visited the fair and talked to all the exhibitors individually. The exhibitors expressed their satisfaction on the quality of stalls and the arrangements made by the TDAP.
The minister also lauded the efforts of the commercial division of Pakistani mission in Frankfurt, Germany, in improving the quality of stalls and expressed satisfaction over the facilities provided by them.
The minister of state and chief executive of the TDAP, Tariq Ikram, also visited the fair and held a detailed meeting with the organisers of the fair, Messe Frankfurt regarding allocation of more space, providing better locations and ways and means to improve media coverage of the event.
He also discussed with the organisers matters with regard to areas in which cooperation between Pakistan and Messe Frankfurt can be established.
