SIALKOT, Jan 17: As many as six armed people kidnapped a youth on Wednesday and after subjecting him to torture forced him to climb up an electricity pole and touch high-voltage wires at Rawal village. The victim was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
Reportedly, six armed accused namely Ehsan, Muhammad Ashraf, Daud, Mubashar, Ahsan and Muhammad Arshad kidnapped rival group’s Muhammad Fiaz from outside his house and took him to a local girls school, where the accused subjected him to severe physical torture.
Later, the accused took Fiaz to village’s main electric pole and forced him at gunpoint to climb up and touch the high voltage wires.
As a result, the youth received a severe electric shock and fell down from the pole. He suffered serious burns and fell unconscious.
The accused fled away after committing the brutal act. Some of the village residents took the victim to the hospital in a critical condition. He was still stated to be in a serious condition.
Kotli Said Mir police have registered a case against the accused.
The family of the victim told Dawn that the influential accused were still at large and hurling life threats at them for reporting the matter to the police.
Some senior police officials, however, pledged that the accused would be arrested soon and the justice would be provided to the victim and his family.
