LAHORE, Jan 14: Robbers injured two people on resistance and made off with cash and valuables in eight hits on Sunday.
Two robbers intercepted Arshad at Qadri Chowk in Jauhar Town and snatched his car at gunpoint. They also shot at him on resistance.
Two armed men came to Mukhtar’s PCO at Kotli Pir Abdur Rahman in Harbanspura and snatched calling cards worth thousands of rupees. When Mukhtar put up resistance, the robbers shot at him and escaped.
The injured was taken to Services Hospital in critical condition.
Robbers took away Rs25,000 in cash and a cell phone from a shop at China Market in Model Town, while two armed men intercepted a woman in Harbanspura and snatched Rs10,000 and a cell phone from her.
Three robbers deprived Tahir of Rs20,000 and a cell phone in Shahdara Town.
Two motorcyclists intercepted Kashif at Y-Block park in Defence and snatched Rs17,000 and a cell phone from him.
Two robbers snatched a cell phone from Ali in the Sabzazar area.
Armed men deprived Nadeem of cash, a cell phone and motorcycle on Walton Road in the Factory Area.
GANG BUSTED: Lower Mall and Gulshan Iqbal police claimed on Sunday to have arrested five members of two gangs and recovered looted valuables besides illegal weapons from their possession.
The accused were identified as Asif alias Acha, Iqbal and Asif of Acha gang and Irfan and Raheel of Thaikedar gang.
The police seized 27 cell phones, Rs50,000 in cash, eight wristwatches, a computer and illegal weapons from their possession.
