LAHORE, Jan 11: Robbers and burglars who struck 16 times in the city on Thursday injured a citizen and took away cash and valuables worth millions of rupees. Five robbers burst into jeweller Saifur Rehman’s house at Khyber Park in Islampura, held the inmates at gunpoint and escaped with Rs70,000, jewellery worth Rs150,000, five cell phones and other valuables.
Six robbers barged into Sheikh Khalid’s house at Shamnagar in Sanda, held the inmates at gunpoint and took away cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs 800,000.
Robbers came to Dr Abid’s house at Canal Park in Hanjarwal and escaped with cash, jewellery and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees.
Two robbers intercepted Usman in front of his house in Kamran Block, Iqbal Town, and snatched his cell phone. They also shot at and injured him when he put up resistance.
Two robbers stormed into Shahid Cement and Paints Store at Sabzazar and snatched Rs15,000 and a cell phone from Shabbir at gunpoint.
Hafiz Imram was deprived of his cell phone in Kot Lakhpat area while a citizen was deprived of his motorcycle, cell phone and wallet.
BURGLARY: Thieves broke into Ikramul Haq’s house in Wapda Town on Wednesday evening after cutting a grill and took away Rs50,000, 22 tolas of jewellery, digital cameras and two watches.
They also made their way into the upper portion housing Abid Bajwa’s family and collected Rs115,000, 11 tolas of jewellery, prize bonds worth 30,000, two cameras, five watches and a cell phone and managed their escape.
SNATCHED/STOLEN: Two cars were snatched from Kot Lakhpat and Gulberg areas, while as many motorcycles were driven away at gunpoint from Garden Town and Gulberg.
Three cars were lifted from Garden Town and Lytton Road areas while four motorcycles were stolen from Qila Gujjar Singh, Defence, Wahdat Colony and Mustafaabad areas, respectively.
