MIANWALI, Jan 11: The Pakistan Railway will run an express train from Peshawar to Karachi via Mianwali on an experimental basis from this month. This was stated by divisional superintendent (Peshawar) Shafiqueullah who inspected the local railway station on Thursday.

He expressed concern over the condition of the waiting room and toilets. He directed the officials concerned to sublet the toilets and place new comfortable benches in the waiting room for economy-class passengers.

He ordered that the canteen should be sealed and it should be converted into a waiting room for ladies.

Later, he visited the Tonga Stand site which has now been converted into a filth depot and promised that the land would be leased out to the allottees in order to raise funds for the railways.
