Demand for locals in rescue teams

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Jan 11: Tehsil nazim Mehmood Qadir Leghari has made an appeal to the chief minister to recruit local people to fill 227 posts in Rescue 1122. Speaking at a news conference here on Thursday, he said local people should be employed in Rescue 1122 instead of non-residents.

Out of approved five rescue centres in the district, only two would be established in the area, he said.

The nazim claimed that the district government did not provide piece of land for three centres while the tehsil administration had given land for two centres.

Showing his concern, he said 60 per cent jobs would be given to non-residents. He claimed that even positions of lead firers, fire rescuers, office attendants, security guards and drivers would be filled by non-resident people.

He has urged the chief minister to look into the matter and appoint local people in Rescue 1122.
