KARACHI, Jan 11: The Pakistan Academy of Letters Sindh and the Mohammad Jumman Halo Trust has announced that awards would be given on the best poetry and prose books in Sindhi published in Karachi and Thatta every year. The award would be named after the late Halo, who is one of the known Sindhi poets belong to Karachi.
According to a statement by the PAL, a committee had been formed led by Prof Qalandar Shah Lakiyari that would judge the books every year and select the best for the award.
Writers and publishers have been asked to send their entries c/o PAL, 80-A, Block-2, PECHS, Karachi, by January 31.
Meanwhile, the Sindhi Adabi Board has published poetry collection “Ojagan jo ant” (End of sleeplessness) of known ghazal maestro of Sindhi, Wafa Nathanshahi.
