Two doctors suspended

KASUR, Jan 8: Two doctors and 11 paramedical staff were suspended from service for absence from their duty when the DCO paid surprise visits to two RHCs in Khai village and Khudian on Monday.

Reports said that DCO Saeed Akhtar Ansari visited the RHC at Khai village and found it locked.

He suspended the only doctor and the entire paramedical staff of the RHC.

The DCO also found Dr Nazeer Ahmed, dispensers Iqbal, Manzoor and Mukhtaran Bibi absent from duty during his visit to the Khudian RHC. The hygienic condition of the RHC was also deplorable.

The DCO released their immediate dismissal orders and referred their cases to the EDO (Health) for further investigation.

ONE KILLED: A man was killed while 16 other passengers were injured when an overloaded van overturned while overtaking a donkey cart on Chhanga Manga Road here on Monday.

Reports said the van (2998-LOP) was on its way from Pattoki to Raiwind when it overturned near Bhoai Asel. As a result, Farooq Ahmed died on the spot while 16 others suffered serious injuries.
