LAHORE, Feb 18: Wapda workers will be provided adequate training facilities by the management to improve their professional skill and knowledge with a view to facilitating them to get due promotion in time.
The decision to this effect was announced by Wapda Lahore Electric Supply Company chief executive Brig Mohammad Tariq Arshad at a special committee meeting held here on Monday with the representatives of the Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Central Labour Union,
The management also decided that the cases of granting selection grades and promotions to workers would continue to be dealt with in accordance with the authority’s rules and the lawful payment to the field staff would be made without any delay.
According to a union spokesman, a special audit party would be sent to get finalized the fixation of revised pay-scales in the field offices speedily and a high priority would continue to be given by the management to ensuring safe working conditions to the line staff with provision of standard safety equipment to them during the performance of duty.
The workers performing lines duties would have to be vigilant and careful in strictly observing safety rules and regulations,
The managements’ decisions were announced by LESCO’s chief executive Brig Mohammad Tariq Arshad in present of Human Resources director Col Shahbaz Ahmad, director (Admn) Mian Iftikhar Ahmad and Labour and Welfare director Shabbir Ahmad while union representatives present on the occasion were secretary-general Khurshid Ahmad and other office-bearers Badarul Islam Abdali, Sajjad Hussain Shah, Mohammad Shoaib, Mohammad Iqbal Bhatti Bhatti, Dilawar Rashid Dogar, Naeem Ali, Maqsood Ahmad and Mohammad Akram.
