LAHORE: Dec 28: The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) board has approved implementation of Matric Tech Scheme. The Tevta board meeting was chaired by authority chairman Khalid Mahmood. The board also approved a number of other initiatives for qualitative and quantitative betterment of technical education and vocational training in the province.

The board members expressed their satisfaction over completion of the first phase of Tevta Special Training Programme (TSTP) and pace of placement of 25,000 pass-outs in private sector.

The board was apprised about the progress achieved in the scheme for introducing technical training in seminaries all over Punjab. It also approved publication of standardised textbooks relating to technical education and vocational training being imparted at all levels under the banner of Tevta. — Staff Reporter
