SUKKUR, Dec 27: More than 100 retired employees of Sukkur taluka council staged a demonstration and sit-in at the taluka municipal office here on Wednesday in protest against non-payment of pension for two months.

The sit-in ended after cheques of pension were given to the retired employees.

The protestors led by Moti Lal, Kaneeza, Rasheeda and others staged a sit-in for two hours in front of the office of taluka nazim. They said the authorities were issuing cheques of huge amounts to contractors but the retired employees were being denied pension. A session of the taluka council was under way when the protest took place. — BoC
