LAHORE, Dec 24: The Eidul Azha operation of the Pakistan Railways will begin on Dec 28 with the departure of the first special train from Quetta for Rawalpindi. Five special trains from Lahore, three each from Karachi Cantonment and Narowal, two from Rawalpindi and one each from Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad and Peshawar would take people to their hometown during the five-day operation that would conclude on Jan 2, railway officials at its headquarters here said on Sunday.
There would be no special train on Eid day when all other trains would operate according to the timetable, they said and added that one special train would be run on Dec 28, three on Dec 29, 11 on Dec 30, eight on Dec 31 and six on Jan 2.
The first special train would leave Quetta for Rawalpindi on Dec 28 at 12.15pm; the second from Karachi Cantt for Sargodha via Faisalabad on Dec 29 at 1pm; the third from Karachi Cantt for Peshawar via Rawalpindi on Dec 29 at 2.45pm; the fourth from Karachi Cantt for Rawalpindi on Dec 29 at 5.45pm and the fifth from Lahore for Rawalpindi on Dec 30 at 9am.
The sixth special train would leave Rawalpindi for Lahore on Dec 30 at 4pm; the seventh from Rawalpindi for Multan via Kot Addu on Dec 30 at 5.15pm; the eighth from Multan for Rawalpindi via Kot Addu on Dec 31 at 11am; the ninth from Lahore for Faisalabad on Dec 30 at 4.45pm and the 10th from Faisalabad for Lahore on Dec 30 at 7:30pm.
The 11th, 13th and the 15th special trains would leave Narowal for Lahore on Dec 30 and 31, besides Jan 2 at 5pm while the 12th, 14th and 16th ones would leave Lahore for Narowal on Dec 30, 31 and Jan 2 at 11.55pm. The 17th special would leave Peshawar for Lahore on Dec 31 at 10am.
