Son of former armyman ‘kidnapped’

RAWALPINDI, Dec 22: A retired armyman’s son has allegedly been kidnapped from Sadiqbad, police said on Friday. Muhammad Sarwar, the father of the missing man told Sadiqabad police that his son Bilal Sarwar, 22, had come to Sadiqbad from Rawalakot to see off his sister who was going abroad on November 23, but he did not return.

Relatives and friends did launch a search for the missing man but to no avail.

The father has named some persons in the FIR that he suspected could be involved in the kidnapping of his son.

SHOT DEAD: A 25-year-old man was found murdered in the Westridge police area on Thursday, police said.

Police said Mohammad Saghir had been shot dead and his body was lying abandoned on a Motorway link road. The family of the deceased said that they had no enmity with anyone.

VEHICLES LIFTED: Six vehicles were lifted from different parts of the city.

Safdar Hussain’s car (JA-956) was stolen from Sadar Barooni area, Samiullah’s van (JB-264) was lifted from Banni while Mudassar Hayat’s car (RL-2867) was stolen from the Airport police area.

Amir Sultan’s motorbike (JA-915) was stolen from Sadiqabad, Khalid Iqbal’s motorbike (RLB-3911) was stolen from the City police area, while Muhammad Arif’s motorbike (RIZ-8649) was taken away by thieves from the RA Bazar area.
