No let-up in robberies

LAHORE, Dec 21: Robbers took away cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in the city on Thursday.

Four robbers burst into a shop in Ichhra, held Kashif Raza at gunpoint and took away Rs400,000in cash, four cell phones and a car (LZE-6680).

Two robbers barged into Ismaeel’s house in Mughalpura and escaped with two cell phones, jewellery and a motorcycle (LZZ-2942).

Two armed people came to Khurram’s shop in the Hanjarwal area, held him at gunpoint and snatched Rs15,000, calling cards worth Rs50,000 and four cell phones.

Three armed people intercepted Muhammad Ali on Zarar Shaheed Road in North Cantonment and snatched Rs5,000 in cash, a cell phone and drove away with his car at gunpoint.

Five passersby were deprived of cash and cell phones in Gulberg, Harbanspura, Walton, Kot Lakhpat and Factory Area, respectively.

Two robbers intercepted a woman in Model Town and snatched her purse and a cell phone.

A rickshaw driver deprived a trader of calling cards worth Rs80,000 near Hafeez Centre in Gulberg.

Five motorcycles were stolen in Gulberg, Iqbal Town, Muslim Town, Akbari Gate and Defence, respectively, a car was stolen in Garden Town while a van was driven away in Ghalib Market.
