230 hepatitis patients given free treatment

PESHAWAR, Dec 18: The Hayatabad Medical Complex is providing free treatment to 230 people suffering from hepatitis A and B while 66 such patients are on the waiting list. These people will soon be enlisted for treatment, says the hospital’s deputy medical superintendent Dr Sangin Khan.

Releasing the hospital’s performance report for November, Dr Sangin Khan said on Monday that 40,973 patients had been examined. Of them 3,187 had been admitted to the hospital. During the same period, he continued, 998 major and 330 minor surgeries had been performed.He said the total number of patients brought to its emergency department was 15,330. Of them 7,105 were admitted to the acute emergency and 4,250 to the semi-emergency section of the hospital.

The hospital’s pathology department carried out 41,466 tests, while its radiology department carried out 4,562 MRI, CT and ultrasound scans.—PPI
