KARACHI, Dec 16: Five ships carrying containers, crude oil and to load clinker are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Sunday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where seven ships including a car carrier American Highway were berthed. Others, which got berths included Corin Thaikos, Mega-2, Kota Perkasa, to unload and load containers, Al-Marwah to offload chemicals, Katina, to load rice and Hightide to load naptha.

Sailing was also active as eight vessles, Laalzar, Puma, Mol Silver Fern, Soon Fue, Eric G. Gibson, Leopard, American Highway, Hightide departed, while AL-Marwah, Ikan Acapulco, Tigris, Wan Hai-303, Oel Victory, Marcalabria, Shalamar, and Corin Thaikos are due to sail out on Sunday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 94,212 tons comprising 27,437 tons of export cargo and 66,775 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Sunday: Johar, with crude oil, Ever Govern, Wadi al-Rayan, with container, Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load 25,000 tons of clinker Sea Home Sun , with general cargo.

The following ships are due on Monday: Vinashin Sun to load 11,500 tons of rice, C. Emerald, with coal, Iran Matin with steel and Precious, with 9,500 tons of soyabean meal.
