PESHAWAR, Dec 15: NWFP Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Sardar Mohammad Idrees has said the provincial government is paying special attention to development of backward and mountainous areas.
He was talking to a delegation of nazims and influential people of the Palas tehsil, Kohistan, which called on him at his office here on Friday.
The delegation, led by Provincial Minister for Revenue Maulana Asmatullah, apprised Mr Idrees of problems faced by the people of the area.
The minister announced that four union councils of the area would be included in the Water Supply and Sanitation Project. Earlier, two union councils had been selected for providing water and sanitation facilities under the project.
He also directed to expand the Community Infrastructure Project to the Palas tehsil and provide basic amenities to the area.
Mr Idrees announced Rs2 million and a bulldozer for the tehsil municipal administration to clear roads during snowfall and landslides. He gave an assurance that offices of all 13 union councils of the tehsil would be constructed.—APP
