DOHA, Dec 9: Chinese Asian Games officials said Saturday they were investigating allegations that one of their male gold medallists assaulted a female team-mate after she rejected his romantic advances.

Nineteen-year-old Zhou Mengmeng claimed she lost her eight-ball, pool semi-final on Saturday because she was unable to sleep the night before as a result of the alleged incident, a report on www.sohu.com said.

“I couldn't sleep. He hit my head and stomach,” Zhou was quoted as saying after her loss to South Korea's Kim Ga-Young.
