NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, Dec 8: The consumers took out a procession in Bhirya Road on Friday to protest against the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company’s practice of issuing detection bills.

They were led by a union council naib nazim, Hafiz Suhail Ahmed Arain, and others and included shopkeepers who had observed shutter-down strike.

The protesters, after marching on different roads of the town, reached Ghous-i-Azam Chowk where they staged a sit-in for about one hour. They burnt some 100 detection bills issued by Hesco.

Talking to journalists, the protesters complained that Hesco officials regularly issue inflated bills, which showed more units of power than they had consumed.—Correspondent
