Death sentence

MULTAN, Nov 30: An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday handed down death sentence and 27-year imprisonment to a convict and 52-year imprisonment to three others in a dacoity-cum-murder case.

The four convicts were also directed to pay Rs15,000 each fine and Rs75,000 each as compensation to the family they had attacked.

According to prosecution, convicts Aslam, Shafqat, Ashraf and Dilbar had trespassed the residence of Ghulam Husain at Qadirpur Raan a few months ago and shot dead his relative Falak Sher when he put up resistance.

Aslam was sentenced to death and 27-year jail. In case of default, he would have to undergo six-month additional imprisonment.

The three others were sentenced to 52-year imprisonment on different offenses. They would undergo six-month imprisonment on default in payment of fine. — APP
