SUKKUR, Nov 27: Activists of different political and social organisations staged a rally and sit-in in front of Thull town committee office on Sunday in protest against the arrest of nationalist parties’ workers and police’s highhandedness.

Reports reaching here said that activists of Pakistan People’s Party, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf, PPP (SB), Awami Tehrik, Jamaat-i-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam and Shahree Ittehad marched from the local press club to town committee office where they observed three-hour token hunger strike.

The leaders, Liaqat Sarki, Abdul Wahid Sarki and Mohammad Arif Dayo told reporters that entire Thull taluka had been turned into a police state by the TPO who was vengefully arresting nationalist workers without any justification.

They warned that they would continue their protest until TPO was removed and announced they would observe a complete shutter down strike in Thull on Friday.
